Looking after a mountain bike, road bike or tandem may appear to require only occasional routine maintenance. However, it pays to think about how much your bike has cost you and the sophisticated engineering involved in getting the bike to perform at its best. If there is anything you need doing to your bike, we can probably handle it. Give us a call and we would be happy to talk it through.

Routine maintenance often omitted or disregarded

The advice given here is only basic guidance, check the manufacturer's web sites and user manuals supplied for exact details of service intervals for your bike's parts.

Purple Bike Shed can perform routine work on your shocks and forks. However, if they require specialist work or repair we can liaise with TF Tuned Shox on your behalf, ensuring your forks are repaired and your bike is returned as quickly as possible. As always we will keep you informed every step of the way.
Fox Forx – Fox recommend cleaning the fork seals and inspecting / lubing the foam rings every 25 hours of cycling, as well as checking the dropout thickness every 100 hours. Annually you should inspect the bushes, and perform an oil change.

Fox Float Shocks – Fox recommend performing air sleeve maintenance on a regular basis, depending on your riding conditions. This can be between every 8 hours and 40 hours of riding.
