Tips & guidelines to take you
to the next level.
This is a full day’s course for those who have already
completed either the Forest Rider course, or who have already
ventured out onto the smaller singletracks, only to bump slowly
over obstacles. Also those that have been riding for a while
and don’t feel that they are improving.
We’ll start with a back to basics session, refreshing
things covered in the Forest Rider course, or correcting any
bad habits you may have picked up along the way. The focus
will then step up a gear to cover:
- Bike set up.
- Rider position, and how to adapt so you can ride anything
the trail may throw at you.
- Understanding traction.
- Slow speed manoeuvres.
- Lifting the front wheel.
- Coping with common trail obstacles.
- Small drops and bomb holes.
- Introduction to pumping.
We’ll also cover some exercises and guidelines on improving
your overall health.
- Warming up – how to prepare your body for riding.
- Getting fitter, riding further – Learning to work
your body harder so you can stay on the trails for longer.
- Body Balance – Conditioning exercises to keep your
body balanced for biking.
- Stretching for bikers – cycle specific stretches
demonstrating correct technique to improve your quality
of movement and so decrease the risk of injury.
The course will finish with an hours guided ride around
the Forest, possibly taking in some of the Expert Mountain
Bike area in Swinley Forest, depending on group progress and
time.
Price £89 per rider
Group ratio of three riders to every instructor, with max
group of six riders.
Price includes all instruction, permission to ride in Swinley
Forest and a lunch voucher to use at the Look Out Cafe.
After completing the booking process, you will be sent an
